Brunch today at Alice’s Tea Cup. The city is totally deserted so there was only a 10 minute wait time compared to the usual 45.

If you live in NYC and haven’t been, this is a great place to embrace one’s inner child. Everything is Alice in Wonderland themed. In addition to the food, there is a huge selection of teas, and baked goodies like scones and cupcakes.

My breakfast: Bread pudding style french toast bites with fresh fruit. Amazing.

Truth. Breakfasts are great there, but the scones are beyond fabulous. My regular is a pot of the chai (though, coming back from India, I don’t know if it will taste as good anymore) and a pumpkin scone.

Sidenote: one of the waiters there is super super adorable. tried to set up our friend, handwritten-note-on-the-bill style, what what. didn’t ever hear if he made contact after all or - more likely - ran like hell after meeting the likes of us. still, love that place, screaming toddlers not included. scones scones scones!
